RIF Honors Chairman of the Board
On November 19, 2006, two large, wrapped packages were creating quite a buzz at the Rosemeade Elementary School in Carrollton, Texas. The packages, soon revealed as a set of lending libraries, were RIF's gift to the school to honor Bruce A. Quinnell, the 2002-2006 chairman of RIF’s board of directors. Each library contains 100 award-winning hardcover books and will act as classroom collections for the whole school. The third grade and kindergarten classes of Jerry and John Lewis, nephews of Mr. Quinnell, attended the fun-filled event. Not only were the classes there for the big reveal, but students learned about what a board of directors does, enjoyed a read aloud, and participated in a book distribution.
