RIF Employees Give Back to the Community

Employees at RIF's national headquarters in Washington, D.C., have many opportunities to give back to their community through volunteerism. RIF offers volunteer leave time to all full-time staff, permitting individuals to take up to two hours per week to support literacy-related activities.

2005, several RIF employees helped renovate a library at D.C.'s Adams Elementary School. Volunteers worked to paint, install furniture, catalogue books, and prepare the library for student use. This library renovation is just one example of what citizens can do to improve neighborhood schools. The photos below provide a snapshot of the activities that took place at the library's grand opening.
