Dollar General

Children reading

For the past four years, Dollar General has been a generous supporter of RIF programs in eight states, serving more than 22,000 children. In 2008, Dollar General increased the donations to each program, enabling them to purchase higher quality books and providing a fourth book for each child in the program.

Boy Reading OutsideDollar General also provided an extra grant to provide bilingual lending libraries and resource kits to RIF programs serving a high percentage of Hispanic children. These book collections are available to not only the children in RIF programs, but also to all of the parents and families served by the elementary school that sponsors the RIF program. More than 10,000 children and their families have already begun to benefit from this generous additional gift.
