Since 2004, Macy's has donated more than $7 million in support of RIF. Through customer supported fundraising campaigns, in-store events, and volunteer activities, Macy's has helped increase awareness about RIF’s mission to help all children discover the joy of reading.

Macy’s is RIF’s lead partner for volunteer engagement. Thanks to their generous support, Macy’s is helping RIF share the benefits of volunteering and increase awareness about early childhood literacy to online communities everywhere. RIF’s new online engagement tools (hyperlink to the Map) will make it easier to connect local RIF programs to local volunteers and will also increase the quantity and quality of volunteering opportunities.

In 2007, Macy’s helped launch the RIF Multicultural Literacy Campaign to promote and support early childhood literacy in African-American, Hispanic, and Native American communities. As part of the campaign, Macy’s donated 350 multicultural book collections to RIF programs across the country, supported a public awareness campaign, and helped launch Leading to Reading, RIF’s early childhood website. In addition, “Be One For the Books,” Macy’s in-store fundraising program, raised more than $2.5 million for RIF, making it the largest customer-supported campaign in RIF’s history.
