Donate $3 for RIF, Get a SavingsPass for $10 off a $50 Purchase at Macy's*, and Help Children Discover the Joy of Reading Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF) has teamed up with Macy's to create a national partnership, "Be One For The Books!" This program will help RIF expand its outreach to the many children who lack adequate access to books and who are at the greatest risk for reading difficulties. As families prepare to send their children back to school, Macy's will be giving customers the opportunity to make a $3 donation to RIF to help more children and their families discover the joy of reading. All children need access to books and to be exposed to reading at an early age to prepare for success in school and life. Your $3 donation to RIF will help provide new books and literacy resources to underserved children throughout the nation. Of each donation, $1 will support a local RIF program to provide books to children in the area; $1 will go to RIF's Multicultural Literacy Campaign, which supports early childhood literacy in African-American, Hispanic, and Native American communities; and $1 will go to help RIF provide reading resources to millions of underserved children across the country. Last year, nearly 500,000 Macy's customers donated more than $1 million to support RIF programs. This year from July through September, Macy's customers will be able to make a $3 donation to RIF in any Macy's Childrens Department throughout stores nationwide. Each customer who donates $3 at any in-store register will receive a savings pass for $10 off most future Macy's purchases of $50 or more.
