US Airways

Children reading

As a dedicated supporter of children’s literacy and a longstanding community partner, US Airways and RIF joined forces to provide nearly 80,000 books to more than 25,000 children served by RIF programs throughout the country.

US Airways EventIn March 2008, US Airways and RIF launched the “Fly with US. Read with Kids.” campaign to increase awareness about the importance of early childhood literacy. As part of the campaign, US Airways sponsored the Read with Kids Challenge to encourage adults to read with children and log one million minutes of reading.

During the Read with Kids Challenge, more than 16,000 parents, teachers and educators enrolled to log their minutes of reading with kids.  The Read with Kids Challenge tallied more than 3 million minutes of overall reading. As part of the campaign launch, US Airways also provided customers on all domestic flights with a complimentary children’s book to take and share with a child.

US Airways Fly with USUS Airways has leveraged their corporate resources to support the campaign, engaging the general public through free children’s books distributed on planes, in-flight messages, magazines, local events, and book collections at US Airways Clubs.
