Children love Eric Rohmann’s books, and he is equally appreciative of them, saying that children’s curiosity and enthusiasm makes them the best audience.
When he both writes and illustrates a book, he begins with the picture and lets the story follow. Eric claims to daydream for inspiration, but also spends time reading and visiting museums and galleries.
Eric was awarded the Caldecott Medal for My Friend Rabbit. He also works in printmaking and was once a teacher.
