Nestlé and RIF's Very Best in Youth
About the Program Young people of all ages can make a difference — whether you're a fifth grader sharing your reading skills with Head Start students or a high-school student delivering meals to the homeless. You can inspire others to be their very best.
The Nestlé Very Best In Youth, co-sponsored by Nestlé and RIF, honors 30 young people who have made reading a priority and in the process have made tangible contributions to the quality of life in their communities.
Hear It From the Winners Winners from the 2003 program share what winning meant to them:
"It was an unforgettable opportunity to share time with other youth who share my desire to create a better tomorrow through leadership and literacy today." - William Dunckelman, 13, Louisiana
"My whole family came home so excited and inspired to do stuff in our community. It was the greatest weekend of my life, but it's like it's not really over, because we are at home doing projects that were inspired by being at Nestlé." - Becca Robison, 12, Utah
"It was very fun. I think everything was perfect. It was a weekend I'll never forget." - Eric Leonhardt, 10, South Carolina
The Application Process Judges will pick at least 25 outstanding youths as winners. Applicants should have strong background in citizenship, school, community involvement, and reading. Click here to go to the Nestlé website to learn how to apply.
