Literacy Access Online, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, helps parents to learn new methods to help their children learn to read and enjoy the process of reading. The site provides a wide variety of stories to read from the web and complete interactive reading and writing activities. Within this site you will also find wonderful resources available for children in the areas of reading, writing, motivation and assistive technology.

General: The Learning Disabilities of America (LDA) Web site is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by encouraging effective identification and intervention, fostering research, and protecting their rights under the law. The Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) Web site provides "a new paradigm for teaching, learning, assessment, drawing on new brain research and new media technologies to respond to individual learner differences." This site includes a list of software designed around this paradigm as well as many other resources.

Specific: The Don Johnston Web site provides Touch Window access to many of their popular early literacy programs like Bailey's Book House, Stanley's Sticker Stories, and other reading adventures.

Specific: This Web site provides demonstrations, templates, and idea exchanges for five versatile tools for students with disabilities including Intellikeys, Overlay Maker, IntelliTalk, IntelliPics, and Click It! The tutorials and training materials include PowerPoint slide shows that illustrate how to integrate these tools into literature units.
