Juwan Howard

  • Juwan HowardHow long were you in the RIF program? I was in the program for five years.

  • As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to play professional basketball or be a school teacher.

  • Now that you are grown up, what do you do? I'm a professional athlete (for the Houston Rockets).

  • Favorite childhood book: Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, and A Biography of Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • What children’s book character are you most like? The Cat in Hat.

  • Favorite RIF memory: My favorite memory was being able to order RIF books from my school library. I love to read.

  • Do you still have any of your RIF books? I'm not sure whether I still have any of my RIF books because I have moved so much.

  • What do you read now? The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.
