School’s out! Whoopee! Now’s the time to kick back, relax, and read, read, READ.
Sure, reading is fun; reading expands your mind; reading is just overall awesome. But did you know that reading can help keep you on track for the upcoming school year? According to the National Summer Learning Association, kids can lose two months’ worth of learning over the summer months. The very best way to keep your brain super smart is to read each and every day.
Wondering where to get started? The library is usually your best bet for books, magazines, audio books, and web-based materials. Beyond that, the world is your oyster! You can listen to books in the car, read a magazine while waiting for your little sister to finish softball practice…it is UP TO YOU. That’s the beauty of summer reading. |

To give you a little extra boost, we’ve teamed up with Scholastic to promote their Summer Challenge. You can join a virtual reading camp, connect with readers across the country, and more. Each week you can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win books and other prizes. How cool is that? |
