Caring About Buster
I went to my friend Garrett's house and I met his dog Buster. He played a lot with me. We became friends right away. I was in his backyard and I stepped on a bee and it stung me! I started to cry because it hurt so much. When I was crying, Buster came and he cuddled up against me and made me feel better. I had a great time with him and hoped I would see him again soon.
A few months later I heard Buster was sick. I was delivering holiday cookies to our friends so I stopped at Garrett's house. I also made a card for Buster and his family. It said I hope Buster feels better soon. I drew a picture of Buster and me playing like the day we met. When I went in to see Buster I was surprised to see how sick he was. He had tubes in him giving him medicine and he was just lying there. I felt really bad for him. This time I wanted to make him feel better like he did for me when a bee stung me. I showed him the card and hugged him. I laid down beside him and just stayed with him for a while.
We got a call from our friends a week later. They told us that Buster had to go to the Vet and was put to sleep forever. They had to this because he was in serious pain. I felt terrible because I thought I didn’t do anything to help Buster, but then I listened to a message that Buster's owner left for me. He said that seeing me hug Buster, even though he had tubes hanging from him, helped them so much and that he saw a true animal lover in me. Even though Buster was really sick he thought I made him feel better that day. It gave him pleasure to see the love in my heart and would always remember the kindness I showed Buster.
Even though Buster died and I was sad I also was happy because I helped him and his family during their hard times. I will never ever forget Buster.
