I Love Peas

Peas is my small green turtle,
I love him very much,
I feed him lots of turtle food,
Lettuce, carrots, and such.

Just because Peas is a turtle,
Does not mean he is slow!
He swims and runs super fast,
Just like a racing pro!

To show that I love Peas,
I clean his humongous tank,
Until it's utterly clean,
And fit to call first rank.

Peas is a red-eared slider,
With long webbed feet and claws,
A hard shell and tiny nose,
No teeth within his jaws!

I like to play with Peas,
He runs across my bed!
But, he’s always happiest,
When he’s asleep instead.

Though there are many other pets,
That hop, bark, and hurdle,
I know that I'll always say,
I love Peas my turtle.
