RIF's "In Love with Reading" Poetry Contest
Reading Through the Seasons
In winter I can face the Artic Blizzard,
Trekking toward the North Pole,
Just by opening a book.
In spring I push up my sleeves
To create and grow
My own garden
Just by reading a book.
In summer the sun burns brightly.
I dive into the pounding waves, deep in the blue sea.
Just by opening a book.
In autumn the air is brisk and cool,
We harvest and gather for the winter.
I fly South with the migrating bird
Just by reading a book.
