Through compelling reminiscences of his grandfather's life in America and Japan, Allen Say gives us a poignant account of a family's unique cross-cultural experience. He warmly conveys his own love for his two countries, and the strong and constant desire to be in both places at once.

This book is awesome! I loved the whole entire book. I think that it was a little sad in the middle. It made me feel happy that he gets to see his grandfather. I do not get to see my own.

I loved the book! My favorite part was when the grandfather traveled everywhere. My least favorite was when the grandfather's house was broken down.
