Through compelling reminiscences of his grandfather's life in America and Japan, Allen Say gives us a poignant account of a family's unique cross-cultural experience. He warmly conveys his own love for his two countries, and the strong and constant desire to be in both places at once.

Hi, I read your book it was really good. I can't wait to read more of your books. In school we are working on our immigration unit. And your book really fit in with our unit. I hope I get a chance to read some of your other books. I only gave you four stars because I think you should have added a little more detail. But if I were you I couldn't have done any better. I love the part when he goes to California and says, "I think I know my grandfather now". I hope you keep writing.
