I think that this book was the best book I have ever read in my entire life. My favorite characters were Amanda Beal and Maniac Magee. I did not like Mars Bar that much in the beginning because he was treating Maniac different because he was white.

Maniac Magee was 3 years old when his parents died. His parents got into a bad car accident. Maniac Magee ran 200 miles to two mills. He met a girl that tried to help him out. When he said "Hi" to her and she said "Hi" back, he thought it was crazy because no one had ever said "Hi" back to him.
