RIF: What are your favorite books?
AnnaSophia Robb: I love the Harry Potter books. They are my favorite books. I thought they were great. I can't wait for the next one! I don't know if this is going to happen, but I think Sirius is going to come back to life. Even if it doesn't happen, I still can't wait.
I also like The Thief Lord and The Lord of the Rings. I've read a little bit of it. I'm going to start A Series of Unfortunate Events. I started reading them a long time ago and I think I was too young.
RIF: Do you read when you're on location for a movie?
ASR: You always have to bring a book on set because there's a lot of waiting around. They say five minutes and it's usually 30 minutes.
RIF: Do you go to regular school when you're not acting?
ASR: I'm home-schooled. It's hard to keep up with school [with acting]. It's a lot easier having your own curriculum. History is my favorite subject. I love the ancient Egyptians.
RIF: What was your favorite part about playing Opal?
ASR: I liked playing with the dog. And Opal is always so upbeat. She always tries to make a good thing out of something.
RIF: What was the dog that played Winn-Dixie like? Do you have a pet of your own?
ASR: There were actually five dogs, and they were Picardy shepherds. They're a very loyal breed. They're really sweet. One liked to play and jump around, and another one was really mellow.
I have a little dog named Bella Roux. She's a mix of Maltese and poodle. We thought she was going to be 6-7 pounds, and she turned out to be 10. She’s skinny but she's long.
RIF: What was it like to play Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
ASR: I liked the gum. It's a lot of fun to be chewing gum every day. I got to be mean, and I never get to be mean in movies! It's so much fun.
RIF: You've read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but have you read any other Roald Dahl books?
ASR: Not yet, but I'm supposed to squeeze them in. They sound really good from what I've heard.
RIF: Do your parents read aloud to you?
ASR: My dad always read The Lord of the Rings books. I tried, but they're kind of hard. I like long books though, and they keep you going for a long time.
