Mildred asked me to go along with to her family for to their yearly trip to the ski lodge. On the drive to the mountains all Mildred talked about was what to great to skier she was. I noticed that I had dropped the the rock. Was the rock in fact a lucky rock? Or was it fools gold? I had to know the truth. I walked along the top of the hill looking for it. But I never could find it. Just then, Mildred called to me..."Come and go down the hill again with me!" I started to shake again. My lucky rock. I was so happy that I hugged her, but then I felt a shiver. I realized that I had to tell the truth. I said, "I really don't know how to ski. I just used the rock to help me because I thought you wouldn't like me if I didn't know how to ski. Will you teach me how to ski, please?" Then Mildred said, "Yes I will. Let's go!" That day I kept on practicing and never gave up.
