What do airplanes and flavored ice have in common? Why a popsicle plane, of course!
This month, make a crafty popsicle plane with your children. Although it won't soar through the air like a paper plane, it's a great excuse to enjoy some pre-summertime Popsicles® as a family.
Instructions:
1. Place one popsicle stick on your work surface. This is the "body" of your plane.
2. Make the "tail" of the plane by gluing a second popsicle stick across the “body,” a few inches from the bottom edge.
3. With the third and fourth popsicle sticks, you will create the “wings.” For the left wing, glue one popsicle stick across the left side of the “body," a few inches from the top edge.
4. Add the right wing by gluing another popsicle stick across half of the left wing.
5. Create the “propeller” by bending a pipe cleaner into the shape of the number eight (8). Glue the propeller to the front of the plane. (Tip: If you don't have a pipe cleaner, draw a large "8" on a piece of paper, cut it out, and glue it to the front of the plane.)
6. Let the plane dry fully (about 3-5 minutes).
Now your popsicle plane is ready for take off!
