For 50 years, RIF has proven that getting good books into the hands of children to read and own makes a huge difference in reading outcomes. Good books, in addition to classroom enrichment activities and teacher support improves outcomes even more.
The Read for Success program includes all of these components and more.
Books are the building blocks to a better future. They foster the imagination, expand our understanding of the world, empower and comfort us and fuel a lifelong love of learning. They are a huge component of Read for Success.
Of the 16 million children living in poverty in the U.S., two-thirds don’t have a book to call their own. Without books, these children are falling behind in school, sometimes even dropping out. It’s an endless cycle that impacts the future of our children and our society.
With Read for Success, children now have access to high-quality books and enriching literacy resources in their homes, classrooms and community organizations throughout the country.
