Bless you, my Chocolate 

Thank you, my Chocolate,
my red slider turtle. 

You came to me and made me
a lot more responsible.
I have to feed you turtle food
and clean your turtle house
which is a glass aquarium
with three black rocks
and a dim light at the top. 

You have made me sigh
 because I have to take care
 of you and do my writing homework. 

But you have made my patience
bloom because of your slowness
when I make you walk to me. 

Bless you!  Bless you with new turtle
treats like green lettuce and apple slices
instead of the same old turtle food
that’s olive green and crunchy
until you drop it in the water,
then it turns soggy.
