Prizes and Judging for RIF's "I Love My Pet" Writing Contest
RIF's "I Love My Pet" writing contest runs from February 14 - March 31, 2005 for kids between the ages 5-15. Visit the main contest page to learn more! Click here to see the official rules.
Prize There will be one grand prize winner and 10 honorable mention winners selected. The winning entries will be published on the RIF Reading Planet website.
The grand prize winner will receive the following:
- a Because of Winn-Dixie movie poster autographed by author Kate DiCamillo
- a $100 gift certificate to Borders
- a $25 gift certicate to Fandango.com
- the Because of Winn-Dixie prize package (see below)
The honorable mention winners will receive the Because of Winn-Dixie prize package, which includes:
- the movie tie-in edition of the book
- the movie scrapbook
- a Winn-Dixie plush toy
- the movie soundtrack
- a movie poster
- a writing journal
- a RIF mousepad

Judging All entries should be written in English with correct spelling and grammar. The essay or poem must be original and should not exceed 1,000 words in length. Essays and poems will be judged by RIF staff based on creativity, writing style, grammar, and spelling. Winners will be selected on or about April 15, 2005.
