RIF's "In Love with Reading" Poetry Contest

That Special Feeling  

When you read you get feelings,
Feelings like you’re tingling inside.
Like when you drop down on a thrilling roller coaster ride. 

My favorites are mysteries.
Then come the books about history.
Reading about a thief or Martin Luther King.
Or reading about James Weldon Johnson.
He wrote “Lift Every Voice And Sing.” 

Not only do I read a book,
I look between the lines.
If I really enjoy it,
I take my time. 

When reading a book there’s always a surprise.
An author writes a book that’s not full of lies.
My favorite thing to do is sit under a tree and read a book.
You’ll see how much fun it is if you just take a look.
