Materials: calendars, pens, pencils, stickersAt the beginning of the month, hang up a calendar low enough so your kids can reach it, or give them each a desk calendar. Ask each child to read for a period of time every day. After each session reading aloud, they can color a calendar date or place a sticker or star on that date. Children should continue filling the calendar until they get a month full of colorful achievements, then another month, and so on. Before too long a time, reading becomes a habit and children do not need a calendar to remember.
