When children see themselves in the books they read at a young age, they are motivated to read more books and read more often. Books are powerful mirrors and windows for all of us; children need more selections in both these "mirrors" and "windows." Since 2007, RIF has distributed its multicultural children’s book collections to select RIF programs across the country. Each book in the collection is carefully reviewed by our Literature Advisory Board, a national panel of children’s literature experts. The lists feature high-quality children's books that explore a myriad of cultures.
