Young people of all ages can make a difference — whether you're a fifth grader sharing your reading skills with Head Start students or a high-school student delivering meals to the homeless. You can inspire others to be their very best.

The Nestlé Very Best In Youth, co-sponsored by Nestlé and RIF, honors 30 young people who have made reading a priority and in the process have made tangible contributions to the quality of life in their communities.

The young people, selected from nominations from RIF coordinators, hundreds of volunteers, parents, and teachers, will be featured in a special publication and honored at a ceremony in Los Angeles in July 2005. Nestlé will also donate $1,000 in the name of each winner to the charity of his/her choice. Each youth nominated will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.

"It was very fun. I think everything was perfect. It was a weekend I'll never forget."
