RIF Pilot Programs

Girl ReadingReading Is Fundamental is always working on developing new and innovative programs to inspire young readers. The following pilot programs are in their early stages of development. Based upon their success and funding, RIF hopes to expand these programs in the future.

Club RIF is a literacy program that pairs teens with younger children to create mentoring relationships and build program management skills among the teens. The three-year pilot phase of the program began in September 2002.

RIF Book Cubs is an informal, read-aloud program for young children designed to improve reading habits, get adults involved in reading to a child, strengthen ties between classroom and home, and provide access to high-quality children's books. This program has just completed its pilot phase and is in the midst of being refined.
