Ingenuity Grants
About the Grant Program As part of the RIF/Coca-Cola partnership, funding has been provided for RIF to make competitive grants available to support creative literacy programs developed and implemented at the local level. Ingenuity grants were awarded to RIF multi-sites in the first year of the partnership to develop programs that enhance community outreach activities and generate best practices. The goal of this grant project is to foster significant collaboration among existing and new community partners; to strengthen local partnerships and to build program sustainability within the national RIF volunteer network.
2004 Recipients More than 40 proposals from RIF multi-sites from around the country were submitted, but only 7 were selected. Those with the highest potential for impact in the three focus areas highlighted in the RFP (out-of-school learning time, challenges facing migrant populations and second language learners) as well as those having greatest community involvement and potential for replication were most seriously considered.
2003 Recipients Out of over 60 proposals from RIF multi-sites from around the country, only 13 were selected. The decision was a difficult one, given the high quality of proposals submitted. Those with the greatest level of community involvement, potential for replication and creativity were selected.
