Consumers who shopped at their local grocery and drug stores had the opportunity to "give the gift of reading" through a special offer on select Colgate-Palmolive products.

From July 17-November 30, Nestlé Toll House Cafés invited customers to "Chip In For Reading"! At the cash register, customers added a $1.00 donation onto their purchase. Customers got to put their name on a paper "cookie" which was posted in the café, and received a bookmark reminding them to read with their child. The bookmark encouraged customers to fill-out the names of 6 books that they read with their children in order to be redeemed for 6 free mini-cookies.
