ABOUT THE POSITION

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager consultant to join our Marketing team in Washington DC. The Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing the project management processes for digital, print and video projects in support of the RIF's strategic priorities including building brand awareness and engagement, with an emphasis on educator engagement, along with support for fundraising, programs and special events. Responsible for day-to-day management, planning and smooth rollout of projects including educator newsletter, educator email, online tools and resources, marketing tactics, event coordination and promotion, and the annual report. A tech-savvy professional with an in-depth understanding of how technology can help RIF achieve our business goals is key. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage writing, creative and production of weekly educator email.
  • Manage & coordinate writing, creative and production of monthly educator e-newsletter.
  • Provide end-to-end project management of MarComm projects and campaigns.
  • Create and own project requirements, budget, scope, schedule/timelines, production and resources.
  • Manage the day-to-day development and coordination with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors from initiation to execution.
  • Coordinate special RIF events, including Books for Ownership, Workplace Giving fairs, and other events at which RIF will have a presence.
  • Creates and executes project plans and monitors progress, including deadlines, specs, assets, budget, vendor coordination, status updates, approvals and final delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Marketing & Partnerships to understand and inform marketing strategy to drive and achieve project objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years in project management role at an agency or large organization.
  • Strong Project Management and organizational skills, including the ability to function within a fast-paced and fluid environment and handle multiple tasks within established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to produce quality written materials and the ability to represent RIF in the community.
  • Capacity to work in a collegial environment that depends heavily on teamwork.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Reading Is Fundamental.
