The Programs Associate supports the implementation of RIF's Books for Ownership, Read for Success, Skybrary, and Book Fund programs. In this role, they will fulfill project management, account management, and customer service responsibilities as assigned. The Programs Associate is responsible for ensuring RIF's community of program implementers receive the support needed to effectively carry out the program at the local level. This role will support incoming community inquiries and is responsible for assisting with the execution of outbound communications to support national and local audiences. The Programs Associate is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the RIF Bookstore as it relates to customer service ticket resolution such as password reset requests or other troubleshooting issues that may arise.



  • Project Management for RIF programming partnerships:
    • Craft internal and external program implementation timelines, unique to each partnership.
    • Lead internal briefings on the status of the project to keep all stakeholders informed.
    • Monitors progress on related deliverables and timetables for projects to ensure compliance with partner agreements.
    • Troubleshoot any issues or obstacles that may arise during the project period, adjusting schedules and targets as needed.
  • Account management for program implementers:
    • Responsible for researching and recruiting local site-based partners such as schools, childcare facilities, and other youth-serving non-profits, and acting as main the point of contact at RIF.
    • Support the order process and material fulfillment for RIF programs.
    • Responsible for supporting program implementers' use of the online RIF Bookstore by setting up, activating, and maintaining RIF bookstore accounts, including managing access and permissions, setting up and monitoring book allocation statuses, and working with RIF's bookstore provider to troubleshoot customer service tickets.
    • Ensure all program requirements are met by the local site and that the account remains in good-standing. A variety of tactics may be utilized including hard copy mailings, emails, phone calls, etc.
  • Responsible for the upload of programmatic account information into Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data entered.
  • Responsible for supporting the incoming communication pathways for general customer service inquires including calls and group email folders and serve as a liaison to the appropriate department to make sure all inquiries are resolved.
  • Informs the team of potential gaps in communications and processes in order to improve program implementation.
  • Builds relationships with RIF program implementers and other community contacts nationwide.


  • Bachelors' degree and 1-3 years' experience with background in project management, account management, customer service, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and basic database software.
  • Must be detail oriented and a quick learner. Strong organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to function autonomously and as part of a team within a fast-paced and fluid environment while handling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills, including the ability to produce quality written materials. Proven customer service skills.
