Thank you for the support of these National Reading Coalition sponsors in leading the way to solve the literacy crisis in the U.S.

Join us in this important step to provide children and future generations with the reading skills to positively contribute to their families, the economy, and society.

With 25 million children not reading proficiently, there is a literacy crisis in America today. Only 37% of high school graduates are reading at or above proficiency levels, and for minority students these statistics are worse. This is a key contributing factor to the skills gap for America’s workforce. The jobs of today require foundations of literacy that enable workers to wade through words, data, charts, code, and other representations of information. Reading is the fundamental building block to explore, learn, and ultimately master any job skill needed to enter the workforce.
