During this webinar Dr. Daris McInnis will demonstrate at-home writing tips for families of children from grades K-2. Content from the webinar include simple, easy-to-implement strategies for using materials readily available at home to foster a love of writing in the early elementary years.
Dr. Daris McInnis is an Assistant Professor of Literacy at West Chester University. He has previously taught early elementary grades in Washington, D.C., and currently teaches courses in reading and writing instruction, multicultural education, and preservice teacher preparation. His research focuses on family literacy, reading instruction, critical literacy, and learning outside of the classroom. He holds a doctorate in Reading/Writing/Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania, is a Pat Tillman Scholar, and previously served as an active-duty Ordnance Logistics Officer in the U.S. Army.
