Five tiny dachshund puppies are born one bright May morning, each one short, wiggly, and full of personality. But as they grow, one pup becomes longer…and longer…and longer than all the rest! His name is Pretzel, and soon he’s winning blue ribbons at dog shows and impressing everyone he meets—everyone except Greta, the little dachshund who lives across the street. Greta doesn’t care how long Pretzel is. She just isn’t interested.
The story centers on Katniss Everdeen, who lives in the dystopian nation of Panem. Katniss is from District 12, the country’s poorest nation, which is being punished by the Capitol for past rebellions: Two children must participate in the Hunger Games each year.
