While spending the summer with her family in Alberta, Summer begins having vivid dreams connected to the painful history of residential schools. When unmarked children’s graves are discovered at the school her grandfather attended, she learns more about what he and other Native children experienced and what they were forced to give up. As her grandfather begins sharing his story, Summer develops a deeper understanding of her family’s history and the lasting effects of the past. Through remembrance, community, and speaking up, she finds ways to honor her heritage while looking toward a hopeful future.
