The Cookie Vote

Mr. Tiffin’s students are excited to learn how a bill becomes a law and get the chance to create their own idea for making their state a better place. When Jeremy suggests creating an official state cookie, the class quickly learns that choosing an idea everyone agrees on isn’t always easy. Through discussion, debate, and a class vote, students discover how government works and why compromise matters. During their visit to the state capitol, they see the lawmaking process in action and learn that working together can lead to surprising results.
