Moai of Rapa Nui (Easter Island)

Moai is the Polynesian word for statue. Many archaeologist, linguists, and anthropologists from all over the world have visited the island to try to answer the questions asked about the moai and more. There is no written record from the moai builders – only descendants left to pass on stories from long ago. There have been some discoveries made, but many questions remain.
