Rock, Brock, and the Savings Shock (Money Tales)
Rock and Brock are twins, but you’d never guess it—they’re as different as can be! One Saturday, their grandpa gives them a special challenge. For ten weeks in a row, he’ll hand each of them one dollar. But there’s a twist!
“Here’s the deal,” Grandpa says.
“For every dollar you save, I’ll match it.
But if you spend it, that dollar is gone for good.
Save your money, and watch it grow!”
Rock can’t believe how many fun things cost exactly one dollar. Every week he buys something new—an inflatable moose head, gooey green hair gel, peppermint wax fangs. He has a blast spending his money right away.
But Brock decides to save his dollars. And each week, Grandpa matches whatever Brock keeps. Slowly, Brock’s pile of money grows bigger…and bigger…and bigger.
By the end of summer, Rock has nothing left, while Brock has saved an amazing five hundred and twelve dollars! Rock is shocked. He realizes he spent all his money on things that didn’t last, while Brock’s savings turned into something huge.
Rock feels disappointed, but Brock reminds him that it’s never too late to start saving. With a little patience—and a lot less moose heads—Rock can grow his money too.
