Walk Two Moons

On a road trip from Ohio to Idaho, 13-year-old Salamanca Tree Hiddle, who is part Indian, entertains her grandparents with stories about Phoebe Winterbottom. Phoebe has many adventures. She receives mysterious messages, meets a crazy person, and has a mother who disappears. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that she is upset about the disappearance of her own mother.
