Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is seeking a Programs & Content Manager to lead the planning and execution of impactful literacy programs and content initiatives that bring the joy of reading to children nationwide. This role ensures seamless coordination from project kickoff to completion, helping RIF deliver meaningful reading experiences that inspire a lifelong love of books.
As the Programs & Content Manager, you’ll bridge the gap between RIF’s Programs and Content teams—overseeing book curation, content development, and program logistics. You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams, authors, publishers, and community partners to deliver high-quality literacy resources and support RIF’s mission of promoting equitable access to reading opportunities.

What You'll Do:
Program & Content Management
- Develop and manage short- and long-term project plans for literacy-based programs and content initiatives.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure project goals, deliverables, and deadlines are met.
- Track budgets, progress, and timelines while maintaining alignment with program objectives.
- Lead internal briefings and participate in partner meetings to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Support RIF program implementers nationwide by providing resources, guidance, and operational support.
Content Creation & Curation
- Curate diverse book collections for both print and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with authors, publishers, and vendors to source high-quality reading materials.
- Manage the editorial calendar and develop literacy content aligned with RIF’s learning goals.
- Oversee warehouse inventory and coordinate book distribution for program initiatives.
Operational Excellence
- Serve as the key point of contact for program management tools, including Salesforce and FormAssembly.
- Manage consultant relationships and oversee system enhancements to support program needs.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and impact.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in education, literacy programming, or project management.
- Experience in book curation, publishing, or library science preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Asana, Trello, or other project management tools.
- A genuine passion for children’s literacy and educational equity.
Salary and work environment:
- Annual Salary: $75,000
- Hybrid work environment (Onsite 3x a week).
