Mary Jean Byrne (MJ) joined RIF in November 2025, bringing with her a deep love of learning and teaching. Before joining the organization, she lived in Seville, Spain, where she taught English to secondary school students ages 12 to 16. Her time in the classroom helped her discover a lasting passion for education.
She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. Mary Jean is especially drawn to both math and reading, and enjoys connecting those interests in meaningful ways.
